How great was the match of Rafa and Djokovic?

in the Hamburg semi finals, it was a spectacular game of tennis

im a Rafa fan, and Novak was really great.

Boy oh boy was that a game! I wonder if the final can match it for excitement and good tennis?

Djokovic was playing like the master he is. he did nothing wrong. He based his game( correctly) on the fast balls that he knew the colder weather was going to produce and which should have been a handicap for Nadal. That should have worked and would have with any other player. Nadal is unique. What a fighter! What a strategist!

I ask anyone who thinks Nadal is all brawn and no brain to see this match and say that with a straight face.

For some reason they didn't play on the centre court and this actually was a handicap for Nadal whose game is better suited to the atmospheric conditions of the main court.

No way you can fault Djokovic who played some incredible winners but Nadal sometimes plays like an extraterrestial - especially on clay.

I hope the grinding and exciting 3 hour match hasn't worn nadal out. Federer has had a relatively easier route to the finals. I'd like Nadal to win tomorrow.After today's game he deserves to be the tournament champion. But whoever is the best man tomorrow will take the trophy.

I am so happy that Rafa won today. He was amazing and what a match.... He proved ambition and determination. I still can´t believe this. This match..you can´t describe it in words. He is a true fighter and he deserves to remain nr2. What a match... Omg.. he is unbelievable.. He is the best.. but still.. i don´t think that he will win tomorrow because he gave all he had in this match and i´m not sure that he can resist tomorrow. Anyway, it does not matter what he will do tomorrow because for me this match was like the  final.

An amazing match!! One of the  best of the year. I was very proud of Nole producing some amazing tennis to try and keep up with Rafa. Rafeal was outstanding and it showed how he is a true fighter!! Too bad Rafa sneaked back in the first set when being down at 0-3 Nole could have one the first set!! Anyways, this proves to all of you novak haters that he is one of the worlds best by producing an imazing performance against the worlds #1 on clay. Well done NOLE!

Novak was more attacking and I thought he deserved to win but Rafa was immense; i mean some of the balls he was getting back were rediculous. I think Federer will win tomorrow though because Nadal's 3 hour epic today. By the way Nina who commented first, Novak is not skinny! Nadal is just a beast.

Wild!  Novak played better than I expected, but Nadal, man oh man is he hot!!! Very exciting. Someone said best clay match this year, so far!  Very happy Nadal kept his ranking and very happy he beat Skinny Nole.

Yes, it was a great match.  That last game was such a see-saw.  So many match points saved by Nole before Rafa finally prevailed.  I just hope Rafa can beat Federer tomorrow.
