  1. they dont have that much money

  2. Aust5ralia are thinking of having their own version of IPL in the near future.

  3. God forbid!

  4. yes I agree, a wonderful way to drive your economy into bankruptcy! lol

  5. I'm afraid to say but, no other cricket playing country than INDIA have BALLS to run a league like IPL. Even if Australia some how managed to start It's own league. They still aren't gonna able to recruit overseas STAR players. Because...

    A) Under NO circumstances Australia can pay players more than India does or will in future.

    B) Under NO circumstances Australia can bring the amount of crowed India can.

    C) Indian players won't participate. It means It'll be a FLOP show.

Indian players have hardly played even county cricket in my reckoning. Remember what happened to Cricket WorlCup 2007 in WestIndies? Where India got out earlier on? Well, It was one heck of a flop show. Now come again to 2007 T20 Cricket World Cup, South Africa. India made it to final and It was a HIT show. I guess you can figure out what was the element this time. It's sad to admit but, we the INDIAN run the world cricket. ;)

But you don't need to be upset. For those guys who're missing live action of IPL there's a good news for them. After watching IPL's success. There's a talk of launching "Champions Twenty20 League" by all cricket associated countries. Initial talk is going on but, some decision have already been taken by related governing bodies.

The master mind behind this league is the same guy Lalit Modi who introduced IPL in India. ECB and CA have failed to further popularised this beautiful game, nor they have been succeeded to spread this game in to other countries. I'm sure this action taken by Indian board will help towards this issue.

  6. We can only wish but I dont think so.  First, over here in australia sports are seasonal, right now people are crazy about rugby union and rugby league (winter time), second, there wouldn't be enough money to fund it, third, most of aussies are working and can't be bother going to the stadium to watch it, they rather watch it on telly.

And last but the not the least; aussies still like the traditional test match and would stick to it, cricketers are already hectic they might find it too tiring and no time for themselves anymore.  And also organisers will have a headache to find venue, all venue are all fully book for other sports like rugby league, rugby union, soccer etc, and remember australia's population are not that humungous so you'll find there'll be not much spectators to come coz people would go to see their prefer sports for the season.

  7. Let's Hope not!!!!

  8. thats a great idea, but it won't make as much money as  the IPL, mainly because us Indians are crazy for cricket and the Indian cricket board is the richest in the world. but it would be a good idea to have all the cricketing countries have their own leagues. and then have like the champions league in European football, where all the best teams of each league compete. that would be amazing, hopefully I'll get to play in it. lol

  9. Sounds good.  But may not be possible.

    News:

May be a bowl out in IPL match at Eden gardens

  10. There wouldn't be enough money. Such tournaments on a large scale have mainly Indian sponsors (like the recent World Cups in South Africa & West Indies), and they are currently focussing all their money on IPL & ICL.

USA, on the other hand, should adopt cricket - at a professional level, and college level (NCAA)

  11. Yeah it would be great!!!

But I think it will end up being like a soccer situation where we have our "A-League" dodgy league while all the best clubs are overseas - Players will go where the money goes - for now all I hope is that channel ten starts showing the games LIVE!!!!!!
