How gruesome is "The Strangers"? ?

My fiance is begging me to see The Strangers but I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to horror/slasher movies. If anyone has seen it can you tell me if it is quite gruesome?

i really liked it i dont kno why people said

they hate it the end sucked but it was pretty good...

i dont get scard of scary movies at all but

that movie freaked me out!!!

it was pretty gruesome but not too bad!

Stephen King said it was one of the best scary movies he's seen in a long time. And coming from Stephen King that has to mean something.

well to be honest its scary but only if you want it to be!

there are some bits that  make you jump and some bits which i found surprisingly funny.

also some of it is confusing..

it says inspired by true events and those true events are only those of the script writer when he was younger, someone knocked at his door asking for someone who didn't live there. it was then discovered that these "strangers" of such were going round the village and if no one  was in, they would rob the house.

SO, if you convince yourself its not true its way easier to handle!!

lol i'm the same as you and am being taken along tonight to see it. heard it scary and after if you hear noises in your house you will be scared

I have not seen it in a while, but I think on a scale of 1-10, ten being the most gruesome, I would say it is around a 5, maybe even 4.
