  1. I passed on my first attempt after 9 months of regular lessons (UK test).

It was nerve wracking, at one point early on the test I thought I'd failed cos I did a reverse round the corner and ended up pretty much on the wrong side of the road! I put it right straight away so afterwards I saw he marked it as a minor because I put it right. So don't give up even if you think you've wrecked it, cos I really thought I had.

Got 3 minors in total, the other minor was for not checking my blind spot when pulling out of a parking spot (I checked and double checked the side and rearview mirrors though and realised I hadn't checked blindspot as soon as I pulled out). I can't emphasise enough how much you need to be checking those mirrors, everytime there's any changes (even when changing gears!) and then again for luck lol. I can't remember what the other minor I had was for (I passed 4 yrs ago).

Oh another thing, we were driving on a really narrow single carriageway with national speed limit and along comes a cyclist (just my luck!) and I slowed down as there were lots of cars of the opposite lane, I didn't know whether to overtake anyway cos I had about 20 cars behind me, was going at 15mph on a 60mph road, in the end (veeeery eventually) there was a big gap where I could overtake, in situations like these just think of what they would want you to do, and think of the safety of everyone, at the time I didn't know if I was doing the right thing with my mile long tailback but it turned out I was.

The examiner was really chatty and it was making me nervous because I wanted to concentrate but after a while I just gave up and started chatting back to him which actually really put me at ease.

    Good luck with your test!

  2. Five lessons, passed first try, I don't know what I failed on because I was in a world of My own after I was told I'd passed.

  3. It took me 3 goes to pass, i failed first because i was slowing down too early at junctions, second go- i pulled out on someone and nearly crashed- i was nervous!! Third go- examiner was really nice and passed me......woo!

  4. I did not find it hard but it was the drving instructor who was slow in teaching me.

Perhaps he was after more money.

    You have to be confident,positive.

Make sue you go to a good drving school.

I passed in my third attempt.

  5. Hi - I passed on my 10th attempt - I failed on something different everytime - each time I failed it just made me more nervous - it was one of the hardest things Ive done - it was so frustrating because I am usually someone who passes things 1st time - so it brought me back down to earth lol, but it was also one of my greatest achievements because of it - I passed on christmas eve in the end (think the examiner wanted to go to the pub lol)

So my dvice would to try and keep calm - and if at first you dont succeed try try try again !!!

  6. Its not hard if u use your Mirrors and stay on the road and obay the rules of the road:)

I passed on my 5th attempt Today.

Just make sure you use your mirrors or they will eat you alive i failed two tests for not useing my mirrors enough and one for hitting the kerb on the reverse park and one for going in the wrong lane.

  7. I found it quite easy, but I did have a lot of practice with an instructor and my Dad.

I passed first time. My friend failed because she drove too close to the back of a tractor, so watch out for things like that.

Always check your mirrors as they can add up as 'minor faults', never forget to indicate (unless it isn't necessary).

    Good luck!
