How hard did you think army basic was?

Just wanted some current soldiers opinions on basic and how hard they thought it was on a scale of 1-10, ten of course being the hardest. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

its just to break you down, and build you back up.

different mos's different training, the more life threatning mos you have the more there gonna make you take it seriously.

its hard then, but once u leave it, your like it wasnt that bad.

its all mental

My boyfriend is currently in basic and I hear from him and what goes on. The first few days suck really bad, but he hasn't been complaining much or saying how hard it is, actually, alot of the times, he is telling me how fun some things are, like land navigation. And being able to just be a guy with the other guys.

But keep in mind, depending on your MOS depends which base you will go to, and diff bases do diff. things.

well to be honest i was disappointed in the easiness of my basic training i mean regardless it was still hard and they do work you really hard but that's why i joined to get into shape and become disciplined overall id say a 7 but its still a really good time when your there

It's all pretty much mental. They tear you down physically, but then build you back up. Once you get your head wrapped around the Army way of doing things, it wasn't all that bad.

I'd give it a 7.........Just because you have to get used to doing the "Army" thing...........

My son has been at Ft Sill for 3 weeks... He says the physical part is much  easier than he thought.he said he is actually enjoying it (He was very fit prior to BCT.) He told me as long as you listen and pay attention it is OK. He was not prepared for all the "book work" required ,lots of writting. Food is OK- Weather is Hot!

when i went to basic it was easier than i thought it was going to be and you will tell by your answers it was different for every one if your ate up it's going to be harder for you like the fat boys they get down on them from day one and don't let up the whole time me it was a 3

Definitely 10 times easier now than when my dad went through...that's for darn sure!
