How hard do I have to work in social class to get an A?

I am a freshmen in a college.

My major is about science, I want to focus on classes like math, chemistry, and other science classes.

But I also have Asian American now, which I think it's really boring for me.

I have some books I need to read for this class.

But it just takes me a long time to read since I am a slow reader, and again, it's boring.

So, I want to know is it possible to get an A in Asian American or any other social classes without reading the books, but just attending the lectures and take good notes.

Thanks a lot for help.

Please answer my question if you have had social class in college before and tell me something you did in those classes.

  1. No, you have to read the books. They put stuff on the exams that is only in the book as they cannot cover all the material in class.

You need tutoring though in reading faster.

And that it is boring is not important. You just have to do it.

If you do not read the book, you will be lucky to just pass. You will not get an A.

The good news is that even if you just pass a course, you still get the full credit for it. And no one really looks at your GPA when you graduate, only your diploma..

Making your GPA as high as possible is only good for getting into grad school.
