  1. Really hard.  I am going to be paying them back for the rest of my adult life!!!

  2. not hard at all -the finance rate is fantastic and they accomodate life changes like children & income.

  3. impossible!!!!!!

this is a nightmare for me, my origional loan amount was $30,000 now it is $70,000 with interest! yes thats right. my payments are supposed to be $300 a month which i can't afford so i have to put it off which in turn raised it even higher the following year which makes it even more impossible, its a visious cycle! and make matters worse my colloge degreee has done me no good and in fact i'm making less now then before i went to college! you can't get rid of it in bankruptcy either. i was going to declare bankruptcy on my other bills just so i can afford to pay on my school loan.

my only suggestions are to not put off paying it after school thinking it will get easier to afford to pay off latter after you get a "good job" that was biggest mistake i made, also shop around i thought salliemae was the only one to get a loan from and much latter when i found out otherwise and tried to sell my loan to another compamy that company actually made "ooch" noise over phone and said they were the worst most expensive loan company and they don't sell there loans out to other companies. so i am stuck and will most likely be on street or in jail oneday trying tro pay off a useless loan that has almost trippled on me in past 10 years! GOOD LUCK!

  4. Let me put it this way.  I owe $60,000.  I'm looking forward to declaring bankruptcy in 2012, 10 years after my last loan.

  5. This is an excellent reason to choose an in-state, state college, and get a part-time job.

  6. It hasn't been all that hard for me.  I budget my money to make sure I have enough to pay all my bills.  I had quite a bit in student loans (much higher than the national average) and am doing fine.

If you're having trouble making the minimum payments, you need to talk to your student loan lenders and see if they can work out another payment plan with you.

  7. Very very hard.  I'm still paying for it...makes me wonder if it was even worth going to college.  I could have ultimately get a job that pays more than what I would be making with my degree.
