  1. College is only hard if you spend your free time partying and drinking. I'm a college student and it is kind of hard but then when you finally get your grades on the transcript it is very rewarding

  2. There's A LOT of work, it's stressful and Independence may fail you!

If you're the type who likes to socialize, you really need to make sure you have good time management skills so you can do your work.

On the whole though, if you keep up to date with work and don't slack, you'll be fine. The first semester may be a bit daunting but you'll get into the swing of things.

  3. 5 things to do to succeed in college.

    1. Go to class every class.

    2. Buy the required textbooks (used is ok) and materials.

    3. READ the books.

    4. See your professor after class or during office hours with questions.

    5. maintain a 35-40 hour 'workweek' of classes, studying and doing homework.

Oh, yes, take and pass all your tests, which if you have done 1-5 above, should not be difficult.

As for what qualifies me to say this? I have been in higher education for over 12 years as a professor, academic advisor, department administrator, and as an Orientation Group Leader. Moreover, 1-5 above is what I was told when I went to college, and I had NO problems!

    Good luck.
