  1. If you are dedicated to it its not hard. First find a flight school. Do some research on the schools in your area. Look at things like there reputation and the experience of their instructors. Also look at their aircraft fleet. Don't necessarily choose a school based on there cost. After you find a school try to get your ground school done right away. Also try to fly at least twice a week if not more. Listen to you instructor and learn as much as you can.

    The average cost of a PPL is around 7K to 10k depending on the school and other costs like your medical exam and testing fees.

Well it's like 40 hours minimum,( for the license ) around 12 to 15 hours to solo ( if you're good ) so per instructer hour about $75 ( wet ) and after about $45 per hour for the plane while you build time as a "solo" pilot ( before you can carry a passanger) -average time to be VFR is around 40 hours-it's not cheap either-

    I am both VFR and IFR and Multi as well ( which now runs around $175 per instructer hour ( wet )
