  1. Saying yes or no is essential to making a decision.

  2. ...not hard at all...thanks for asking...

  3. It depends on your level of decisiveness.

  4. Well, I guess it depends on the question... if it is a life-changing decision then you should take some time to think it through.

However, that being said....  my husband and my brother-in-law both have an annoying habit of never being able to make a decision.  Even for rather unimportant things such as do you want hamburgers for supper?  Do you want to see this movie?  Things like that.  It drives me crazy because I feel like I always have to make the decisions because they refuse to commit to anything.  Then I feel bossy but if I don't decide then nothing will ever be done.

If your problem is that you know the answer but are afraid to voice it because of what other people might say or how they might judge you, then that is when you might have a problem.  You have as much right to your opinion as anyone else.

  5. True, and frustrating when faced with choices where neither one seems really satisfactory.  Best hedge I've found in these cases is to analyze carefully and do the one that is A. Ethical. B. Serves others., and failing those distinctions, I choose the one that is not irreversible, and devote my energy to that (until I wake up in the middle of the night and change my mind).

In the end, though, the problem for me is best described by 'The Enneagram'.  I happen to be a "Type 4", and so rely too much on feelings.  When this becomes too much, like driving a 747 down the street, I tend to rely instead on my brain-power.  But this in the end is no better than driving on one of those little spare tires.  The Enneagram uniquely points to this as characteristic of the shortcoming of my personality type and is really an ego problem which can be best helped by taking action and getting around and over the compulsion which tells me that my decisions are so absolutely powerful; in their efect on others and the world, and even myself.

I need, then, by taking action rather than feeling or thinking too much to learn that I can participate in the world, and that my choices can be amended and absorbed by the world aropund me rather than being the be-all and end-all.  Hope this helps.

  6. IT DEPENDS ON THE QUESTION.
