  1. Ted makes a good point that if you don't have much job experience and/or a college degree you won't be accepted.  However, in my case I have a BA in philosophy and theology and 10 years experience in television media.  While I had a lot of volunteer experience, I wasn't sure how the Peace Corps was going to use me because I wasn't a teacher/doctor/engineer/etc, however they were able to place me in the Romania program with a human rights NGO where I help them with grant writing, project development and print/media publications and informational distribution.  My point is, apply anyways and see if they accept you, because you never know what kind of opportunity will present itself.  I feel that if I was accepted, almost any American with a willingness to serve can be accepted too.  Good luck!

  2. 95% of all PCVs have a college degree. The other 5% have 10 - 50 years of experience. Your question isn't very clear. If you've never volunteered, never worked and don't have a degree, they won't take you. If you have a degree but haven't done any secondary teaching / health work / agricultural work(ie, you want to go in straight out of college) you have a reasonable chance. They accept one applicant in four.
