I want to know the track from beginner to Pro. (What are the big tournaments, and how to get invited to the national Olympic trials etc..) all the way from the bottom to the top of the sport.

Heres the type of info I'm looking for.....

I know soccer pretty well so

1)be the best on your high school team (about one out of 25)

2)get looked at by a city team. (like houston texans)

3)get selected by a Div. 1 college (one out of 40 in your high school)

4)get selected to the under 20 national team (one out of 100 on a college team)

5)get drafted to MLS

6)do very well in MLS and go to EURO (like 3 out of the entire MLS a year)

Thats the track for soccer. Now whats the track for BMX?

  1. BMX'ing ,like skateboarding, is not the same as football/soccer.

Get a bike, learn how to ride it.Enter races or compititions.

Win or amaze people with your skill and good sports ethics while your trying to win.

    That's how it's done.

Those who need good bmx'ers will know who you are if your worth noticing.

This is just one persons opinion

    Good luck

    p.s. It's very hard

  2. Im no expert, but I too am interested in bmx riding. You have to get noticed by a team of riders or a company. If they are impressed, they might sponsor you, and then all it takes is time. You can also take the Youtube approach and you'll get your footage out to the public, and anything can happen. Hope that helped you.

  3. BMX is totally different since it has the individual component. It's mostly how you get yourself seen. Obviously competitions help a lot (for racing, competitions are necessary). But as far as freestyle goes, making videos, a sponsorhouse account, vitalbmx, etc. will all help you. It's all about networking. A unique style helps also.
