So I have some World Cup fever at the moment and I decided that I want to be an All Black (lol) as most couch-bound Rugby fans have probably dreamed.

So what do you have to do to be selected and is there an age limit?

  1. No age limit , though I think the youngest ever was 19 .

    You have to reside and play in NZ for 3 years.

    And play better than the other few  hundred thousand players in NZ ,that also want to be All Blacks

  2. Playing rugby at any level is a hard business let alone playing for "probably" the world's best.

    Throughly enjoyable to watch though - I mean the "best" in action.

  3. Not that hard if;

    a) you are very fast, and

    b) you have excellent stamina, and

    c) you have excellent ball skills, and

    d) you are exceptionally strong, and

    e) you have played rugby since age 5 so have developed

        some innate rugby knowledge, and

    f) you are 6' 6", and

    g) you can kick with both feet, and

    h) you tackle as hard as Mike Tyson punches

    If you have all those skills you have a good chance of being an AB.  If not continue to enjoy from the couch.

    NOTE: No age limit although to play first class rugby in NZ you need to be older than 18 or get dispensation from the NZRU.
