  1. Getting into Dental School is pretty challenging. You have to have a good GPA usually acceptances average 3.5 gpa. You have to have volunteer and shadowing experience and take a standardized test called the DAT. Once you're in dental school you'll have to maintian a high GPA and be in the top 25% of your class and do well on your boards which you take after your 2nd year and during your 4th year. (Dental school is 4 years). Once you are almost done with dental school you will apply to ortho programs and it is usually another 2 or so years.
