How hard is it to become an orthodontist?

how much school do you have to go through, and what do you have to take as far as classes go?

Getting into Dental School is pretty challenging. You have to have a good GPA usually acceptances average 3.5 gpa. You have to have volunteer and shadowing experience and take a standardized test called the DAT. Once you're in dental school you'll have to maintian a high GPA and be in the top 25% of your class and do well on your boards which you take after your 2nd year and during your 4th year. (Dental school is 4 years). Once you are almost done with dental school you will apply to ortho programs and it is usually another 2 or so years.
