How hard is it to border hop into mexico?

it seems pretty easy to get into america so how hard is it to go to mexico with no visa or green card

Juan is absolutely right.  That 12 mile checkpoint and the military checkpoints after that require proper I.D., and with out that I.D. and at least a tourist card, you will certainly land in jail.  If you are caught  entering Mexico illegally, they don't just throw you out, they throw you in jail.  it is so EASY to enter legally that there is no reason to try to enter illegally.

It's easy to get INTO Mexico. I don't believe they even check for any sort of ID. Getting BACK is the problem

There are actually two(2) borders.The border with the US and another less defined "flexible" border at about twelve miles+/- beyond the first border.When you reach the second border your paperwork must be complete and in proper order to proceed any further into the country.You will find that the federal troops who are responsible for manning this second border area have very little patience with anyone attempting to enter the country without the complete and required paperwork.

You don't really need anything to get into Mexico right now. Its easy and the lines go super fast. Getting back is another story.    Last time I went it took us 3 hours just to cross the border back into Texas. They also like to make you open all your luggage and thoroughly search your car.
