  1. It's not that hard if you know what you're doing but if you're a non technical person I recommend you to call a pro.

1.- You have to unscrew the HD hatch.

2.- Disconnect, unscrew and extract the HD from the computer.

3.- s***w and connect the new HD.

Beware, you have to discharge any static of your hand before touching the HD's, just touch a metallic part of your laptop and try not to brush your feet on a carpet or rug.

  2. If you do not care about the data on the old hard drive, then it is quite simple. All you have to do is unscrew the hard drive and you are done. Then just put the new one in place and s***w that one in.

  3. There are three things that ned to be dealt with when replacing the hard drive

1: working out what drive you need

    2:actually replacing the drive

3:getting the system up and running again.

The difficulty of 1 and 2 can range from very easy to nearly impossible depending on the make and model of the laptop.

As for 3 you will have to either clone the drive (and that requires suitable software and hardware to connect both drives to a machine at once and perform the clone) or do a fresh install/recovery on the new drive (which is easy if you have the manufacturers recovery CDs but if you don't may be somewhat painfull.
