I just got a new beater and I am thinking the shocks or springs are done, when I do the bounce test it returns the first time. The problem is when I am driving and hit a pothole or bump it sounds like I am bottoming out. Help!!

  1. It is a reasonably difficult job.  The springs need to be properly and safely removed front the strut.  This needs to be done with a spring compressor because there is a lot of tension in the springs.

When you say the car bottoms out when you hit a bump, it could be another problem with the car?  I would have it checked before you spend the money.
