How hard is it to come from the US to Australia; to live and work there?

I really want to move to Australia later in my life, after college, but is getting a working visa difficult? I have no family there. I have talked to several people who moved from NZ to Australia, got a working visa, and are extremely happy. They said it was easy. But on the other hand, I have talked to people who moved from the US, and found it hard to work in Australia. Please tell me what you know!!! Is it at all possible for me to make this move? Also, does it make any difference what my career will be? I want to go into medicine.

If you google getting a visa to australia, you will find out that they are kind of stringent about the requirements.  I suggest you go to their website.

All Australian visas have conditions that must be met otherwise you don't get in. New Zealanders have a special catergory that gives them an advantage that makes it a bit easier for them but they still have to meet certain requirements.There is a lot involved so I would advise that you check the immigration department's website:
