  1. i live in australia and we have the same situation as where you are travelling-you drive on the left hand side of the road.

i often think it would harder to drive on the opposite side, but you'd prob think itd be harder because you always drive on the side you drive on in your home country.

youll just have to wait and see.....you might adjust quite well :D

  2. Just exercise care at all times.

The hardest thing for me when i had to drive in the USA, was complicated intersections.

Intersections with complicated filter lanes tend to be oriented to be 'intuitive' based on where they expect cars to be coming from. When approaching one, you simply follow the most intuitive path based on where you want to go. If what you are used to is you driving on the OTHER side of the road, NOTHING will seem intuitive when you come to an intersection.

    My solution?

    - Work out your movements at intersections very early. Be alert, watch the movement of other vehicles and follow where appropriate.

    - Be constantly on the lookout for warning signs from people or other users of the road. If you make a mistake, you want to be able to correct it ASAP without anyone being hurt.

    - Avoid driving at night before you have adjusted. MOST RURAL ROADS ARE NARROW. traffic is reduced, so you have fewer cars to use as 'guide sticks'. The risk of being head-on with car on the wrong side of the road is MUCH higher at night.

Also, remember to WATCH OUT FOR CYCLISTS and PEDESTRIANS. Many rural roads do NOT have sidewalks or cyclist lanes, and the general practice is to walk/ride on the edge of the roadway.  Your 'left/right disposition' puts you at a greater risk of miscalculating and inadvertently hitting one of these people with the far side of your vehicle. Be VERY versed in how to deal with this before you travel too far from your hotel.

  3. not very hard but it may be challenging being that you are from a country that drives on the opposite side
