How hard is it to get HOPE scholarship (for people that have actually been awarded it)?

  1. It is my understanding that you have to had a B average - which I think is a 3.0 GPA - in high school in order to qualify for the Hope Scholarship.

    I have two sons entering college/vo-tech schools this Fall.  

    They told me the oldest would have to start out going for a Technical Certificate with a HOPE Grant because his high school grades weren't sufficent for the HOPE Scholarship.

    However, if he makes a B average in college after so many credit hours, then he can get the HOPE Scholarship and go for the Degree he wants.

    So if you have/had good high school grades, then it's not hard at all.

    Or if you didn't, but work hard in college/vo-tech school, then you can still get it.
