I believe it is not hard at all. Im lodge manager and many people who are guests here have no problem getting those visas.

It is relatively easy to obtain a tourist visa for New Zealand however obtaining a work visa is somewhat more difficult.

NZ change their visa requirements frequently in response to local demand, economic changes, etc. At present, unless you have a job offer or are skilled in an occupation in shortage you will find it difficult to obtain a work visa.

The exception to this is the working holiday visa which is available to people aged between 18-30 who are nationals of:

Belgium

Canada

Chile

Czech

Denmark

Finland

France

Germany

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Ireland

Italy

Japan

Korea

Malaysia

Malta

Netherlands
