  1. Years ago, an FFL cost $30 for three years and literally thousands of people got them simply for what you are stating now, plus getting weapons at dealer cost, saving more money.

Under President Clinton, who is definetely against our second amendment rights, he really toughened the rules for an FFL holder.

To get a license today, you must submit a diagram of your store ( showing an actual business, unlike what myself and thousands of others did and dealt out of our homes and basements), a three page letter stating WHY you want to sell firearms and it is now $300 for a three year license.

I gave up my FFL years ago when this went into effect. The published figures from BATF said over 50,000 FFL's were not renewed due to the new laws

At any rate, this is a decision for you to make on your own. Just be aware that you will have to sell something to justify the license fees every three years.

You need to be over 21, totally clean criminal background record and be prepared to fill out a couple of dozen forms and go through some screening interviews by ATF agents.

In either case, best of luck to you and I hope this can be useful to you

  2. Not too hard but you need to have a reason for needing one, like opening a store, where is the store located.
