  1. good grades, good outside activities... and money.

  2. The bottom line is that you won't get into an Ivy league school by NOT working very, very hard. Schools like that don't just want a 4.0....they want well-rounded individuals who show a consistent work ethic and embody good leadership qualities.

Don't mess around in high school, participate in lots of activities, make good grades and study hard for exams like the SAT and ACT. Score well and make good grades. For some, those things sound easy. For others, it seems impossible. Whether or not it'll be hard for you depends on how hard of a worker you are.

Best of luck if you're working to get into a top school! Work hard and heed my advice. In any case, you should shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

  3. Extremely.  Realize that only a few hundred students a year across the entire country get into Ivy League schools each year, out of the millions of students who start college.

  4. Getting in isnt the hard part. Well, it is, you need pretty d**n good grades. It's paying for it that's the hard part. Scholorships are small and hard to come by.

  5. extremly hard and i dont see how its worth it you can get a perfectly good education at any other college

  6. have good act and sat scores! 1500 would be great to get into any school you wanted! also if your a minority then you won't have any problem getting into whatever college you want! good luck

  7. REALLY HARD

  8. very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very hard. u need like a 4.5 GPA if not higher and a PERFECT SAT score

  9. Check the requirements and you'll see.  It's incredibly hard...well depending on how talented and dedicated you are.

  10. wow, gewd luck with that, hope for the best and hope the banks permits

  11. Easy if your last name is. . .

    Bush!

  12. harder than getting in to steel surrounding a cocunut.

  13. on websites like www.princetonreview.com they will give you the exact acceptance percentage for most colleges. Also, they give you statistics about the students who they do accept (test scores etc) So you can see how likely you would be accepted, it all depends on you scores, family connections, and your high school record.

  14. I'll agree that's it's indeed very hard, but most of these people have given you bad information.

-It's not just hundreds that get in. Dartmouth, the smallest ivy, has 0ver 1000 students in each class. They accept about 2000 to get their 1000 with a 51% yeild. Therefore, more like 20,000 are accepted each year by the 8 schools. Of course there is considerable overlap, but hundreds@@!!

-The SAT needed is above 2200, not 2000, unless you are an athlete wanted for a team, a minority or a rich kid with family ties.

-GPA doesn't have to be above 4.0, it just has to be one of the top at your school in AP/IB/honors or whatever you have.

  15. Not that hard if you know the right people

  16. 4.2 gpa or higher

    lots of community services

    all A's in high school

    couple of B's are okay

    took lots of honors courses

    2100 on SAT's

  17. You shouldn't go to an Ivy if you don't know what you want to do. Go on each ivy's website and request information. Its pretty hard.

    1. Over 4.0 GPA

    2. A minimum of 8 AP's that you've gone a B or higher in.

    3. Summers full of internships, volunteering, or community college.

    4. Get to know all of the Ivy's and there statistics. Have a passion for them. Know what each one offers and their history.

    5. Great admission essay and typewrited application.

    6. President of at least 2 clubs and make sure you do everything you can in those clubs.

    7. Top 20 in your school

    8. Over 2000 on you SAT

These people who said money did not read about the colleges. Almost all of them pay for their students depending on income.

  18. It is hard, but if you don't get in senior year, you can always apply to transfer in after your freshman year. Again, this is just as hard, but if you really want to go to an ivy league school, just keep trying and don't give up.

Some schools offer guaranteed transfers. This is where you apply normally as a senior, but the college is unable to offer you a place in the freshman class. This might be because your grades weren't as high as the other students that applied, but the school still wants you, so they offer you a guaranteed transfer. You go to another school for a year, and so long as you meet the GPA requirement, you go to that school.

I know Cornell offers the guaranteed transfer, not sure about the ivies.

Hope this helps! Good luck! Study hard and be involved!
