How hard is it to learn to play the piano on your own?

How hard is it to teach yourself?

To learn playing the piano by yourself???

TO do that is like committing suicide!!!!

The piano is one of the most complicated instrument.

To learn the piano by yourself is very very hard.

When i start learning playing the piano, i almost gave up even though i have great interest in playing the piano because learning to play it is both hard and boring.....

So..

Don't EVER EVER learn the piano by yourself. Get piano lessons, that is the best and the easiest thing to do to learn the piano.

Probably not that hard if you are persistant and really work hard at it.  I would look into lessons though, they are not that much and you will learn much quicker and easier.

i think lessons would definately do you some good.you could probably learn but it would be much harder then say teaching yourself the guitar. piano is complicated and if your serious about learning , get a teacher.

well, it really all depends on the individual playing, their knowledge of music, and their will to learn.

i might not be the best player, or have the best posture, etc, but i learned how to play one song in one day.

and after learning that song, i've been able to play others.

i've already knew how to read music (i play clarinet & sax) so that was easy for me.

but on the keyboard, i'm still not use to figuring out which key is which....so i took an old eyeliner pencil that i don't use anymore, and i wrote on the keys, CDEFGAB, so that way i know which to play.

but soon i need to be able to memorize which keys they are.

but anyways, for someone who already plays an instrument, it should be fairly easy, but if you don't have musical experience, it might be more difficult.

but once again, it all depends on you and the rate at which you learn.
