What kind of character traits do you need?

I hear it's cut throat but I was wondering how to go from an intern to a respected reporter for the top newstation in the country? What to expect?

  1. well hello future competition...

it is most definitely a cut throat business. i guess the way to go from an intern to a respected reporter is taking baby steps. you don't go from intern to diane sawyer over night. you'll probably start off in a small station in a random state and move your way up. expect a ton of other people going for the job. it isn't all glamorous. many of the top anchors do research on their own stories before they present them. know how to write well, speak well, and present yourself well enough to the stations so they consider you. knowing a second language is also a plus. :)
