How hard is it to play the song from "The Red Violin" on a violin?

To just play the notes, not that long. To play it like the wonderful Isaac Stern played it in the soundtrack (or was it Joshua Bell?) - that wonderful plaintive, haunting quality - years and years.

EDIT - I just wanted to add: some people are born with a wonderful innate sense of how music should sound and "feel." If you feel the phrasing, if you're "singing" the song, it will not take as long. This is where a good teacher comes in.

it sounds quite hard. not so much the notes but more the technique.
