I've got a 1990 Eagle talon tsi awd and I want to rebuild the turbo on that instead of buying a new one. Hoping to save some money.

  1. They are high RPM devices and have close tolerances as well as lubrication demands. I dont recommend that you try it. BTW they are superchargers not turbo chargers.

  2. I've got a '92 tsi and its cheaper to find a good one at a junk yard or on a parts car than to rebuild it.

  3. YES IT IS A TURBO NOT A SUPERCHARGER LIKE THE GUY BEFORE. look at the compressor housing (aluminum side) if it says TD05H than it is worth fixing if not  don't bother. other turbo might say TD05 or TD04 don't waste your time. The best place to rebuilt it is Precision Turbo in Indiana. If you know what you are doing with a micrometer than you can rebuilt it your self. check with dsmtuners web site for directions. I have a good TD05H that i'll sell you for less than you'll rebuild if interested (surprise57@gmail.com)

  4. I don't think its possible and get it right ,better off taking it off have it repaired ,then reinstall it

    less headaches
