  1. Replacing toilets are simple. here is a guide to help you...

  2. It's not that difficult but it is a bit awkward.

Put a towel in the exposed sewer line to prevent dangerous gas from escaping after you remove the toilet.  When putting the toilet back, be very careful so you do not damage the wax ring.  Be careful not to tighten the base bolts to tightly.  Over torque could cause the base to crack.

  3. very hard

  4. Not very hard at all many toilets can be done by the do it your selfer it mainly consists of shutting off the water undoing some pipes and unbolting it.  many places like Home Depot or Lowe's will have people and diagrams to help you through the installation process.

  5. not hard at all.just have to shut the water off take the toilet off.put the knew rubber seal down and put the knew toilet on top of that easy.

  6. why is that so hard? one piece at a time . It so simple

    so why ask?

  7. not very--- this instructional is straightforward & easy to understand. http://www.bejane.com/tutorial_replacing...

  8. Usually theses things look easier than they really are. U have to get the right toilet and the correct fittings , pipes and some cement before u get started. Then u have to shut off the water main, then flush the toilet till there's no water then loosen the toilet from the floor, prpbably have to use a little force, then when u replace the new one, cement it in the right place first, then connect all the plumbing , let the cement set nicely then test to see if all works as it should.

  9. Your question has been answered by those above with just one point omitted. The toilet bolts need to be cut shorter so the plastic covers fit over top. The plastic washer should have the bevel facing down with the metal washer on top. This allows you to snap on the plastic caps that cover the bolt.

  10. No easy answer...too many factors. If the new toilet matches the old, and the pipes are solid, it's not too bad.Remove the tank top. Turn off the water...a small valve near the wall and back from the bowl. Flush the toilet twice, to get out as much water as possible, If no water re-enters the tank remove as much of the remaining water as you can. Use a towel, a paper cup, or a turkey baster [NOT the one your Mom/spouse uses on Thanksgiving!] Then do the same with the bowl. Don't worry about the water, it's quite clean, and better to remove it from the bowl than spill it on the floor. Loosen the fitting on the bottom of the tank which attaches the pipe from the valve you shut off. Locate the 2 bolts which hold the toilet to the floor. They are usually covered by semi-circuler plastic caps [pop off with a screwdriver]. Then remove the washers and nuts from these bolts. NOW you can pull up the toilet [If it's stuck to the floor with plaster or caulking/grout, you will have to scrape them out to loosen the bowl]. In between the bolts there is a 3" diameter hole, with a thick [probably dirty] wax ring around it. Scrape all of the wax off and discard it. If the bolts are damaged, change them. If not, put a new wax ring around the hole between the bolts, and C-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y lower the new toilet over the hole. It helps to have someone help you guide the bowl onto the bolts, as you will be busy just holding up the toilet. Once the toilet is in place, gently push it down [or just sit on it] to settle it into the wax ring. When it's settled on the floor, replace the washers and carefully tighten the nuts onto the mounting bolts. Not too tight, or you'll crack the porcelan. Reconnect the water line, open the valve s-l-o-w-l-y, checking for leaks. Fill it--check it-flush it! Replace tank cover and I hope you made it! [Discard the Turkey baster!]

  11. everyone has told you that the seal is rubber but it is wax and where i come from the are about 2 bucks most new toilets come with all new hard wear so the old stuff you can trash.  Check it first be for you trash it.  just take your time and not crack the tank when putting everything together.  After you put the toilet on the new wax seal you will have to work the toilet down to the floor and get a good seal.  If you don't do this you could crack the flange where the bolts are at.  take you time and every thing will go good.

  12. Depends who's doing it.

  13. Easy. Shut off the water supply to the toilet.

    Flush the toilet.

Unfasten the water supply to the toilet tank.

Unfasten the two anchor bolts to the floor.

It should be ready to lift up and away.

To install a new one you should replace the wax seal that the toilet sits on.

  14. not hard at all. Turn the water off, drain the tanks, take off the bolts on each side pull up and replace. You may also have to replace the rubber seal that sits between the toilet and the floor. Then when you're done just reverse the procedures.

We just replaced one last year. It was a piece of cake and trust me I had no idea what I was doing before we did it.

  15. pretty easy

  16. It's not hard........just shut the valve off on the lower wall flush it a couple of times....if you have a wet and dry shop vac suck all the water out.........then undo the caps and bolts on the floor and pull the old toy out.........have the new ready and re hook up..........you need to clean the old hole going down and put a new bee's wax seal there and put some new bolts in the flanges.......sat the toilet gently down, sqeeze it gently down over the new ring...and bolt it down....test it and see if it leaks............sounds simple and is.....but just the re seating on the ring takes a little patience ....it's better if there's two of you  for lifting.......but one can do it by just straddling toy and sit it straight down.....don't over tighten the bolts.....hope this helps..........bye.
