Question:

How hard is it to replace valves in a 90 ranger?

I tried reading chiltons repair book and it just doesn't make sense to me. I was just going to tear it open and hope for the best. If no luck I would buy a new engine since it seems easy to replace the engine. Does anyone know a forum or website with a pictured guide on how to do it?

  1. Which motor you got and why you think you need valves??

    EDIT

    www.therangerstation.com

Those motors have some noise from the

fuel injection, but it sounds like you have other

problems.  Look at rangerstation and see if they have some top end oiling problems.

You might need a cam and lifters or ?

  2. Ok, you obviously have not done this before, so thinking that you are going to manage to do a valve job on this is just crazy. If you MUST do this job, just pull the head and either take it to a head shop or buy a new head for it. TRUST me, you'll regret trying it yourself later if you do, and you'll end up doing what I'm telling you to now.

  3. you have to remove the head from it to replace the valves in it, its still cheaper than buying another engine providing thats all it needs done to it,have it checked, pulling a head is a lot easier than replacing an engine in it,and less costly also ,good luck.
