It's not hard to request a test drive -- if the dealer actually has one on the lot. The car is so popular that dealers don't have them in stock and the factor is way behind in making them. It seems the supply of batteries for them is the main holdup.

And by the way, don't expect a bargain price if you decide to buy one. You might have better luck looking for a used one, but even those are hard to find and the prices are as much as new ones.

If you are in a big city, then I am sure there is at least one dealer who has one to drive. In San Antonio, Red McCombs had one that I test drove about 8 weeks ago. Just call around.
