I'm just wondering because I am constantly being called by insurance industry people about jobs. Are those scams? They're local and big names, so I don't know. I am wary.

  1. if you don't like sales, there are plenty of jobs in insurance other than selling policies.   I work in special lines for marine/boats and yachts, help customers with policies and do office management stuff.  No pressure, it's a good gig.

  2. Not hard I am doing it, there are quotas and it can also be boring at times, but the pay is good.

  3. There are always opening in the Insurance field because of the turn over. The sales personnel are paid on commission, which means they must sell a policy to someone to get paid.

Lots of people just don't have the personality required to sell policy's, so they leave looking for better paid jobs.

Also there is an emotional strain when someone with a really sympathetic situation not covered by their policy, needs help. You have to be able to send them away despite them being in need of help.

  4. Nope, but they are commission only - so it doesn't MATTER if you perform or not - the non-performers don't get paid.

  5. I don't know who is calling you but that is not a good sign.  Probably life insurance sales.  There is a wide variety of jobs in the insurance business.  Account managers who work in the office supporting the brokers/agents can make very good money with experience, knowledge and hard work.  Brokers and agents can make very, very good money.  Think about it - you build up a book of business.  You sell 50 policies the first year, the next year those renew and you sell another 50, the next year those 100 renew and you sell another 50, and so on.  Frankly, it is an excellent business to be in.  I suggest commercial insurance.

  6. If you are selling life, health and long term insurances, you must like to deal with people, if not it could be very hard, because this is a business of running after people for their business, not the opposite

  7. it takes a sheer lot of perseverance as you will face rejection esp. from those closest to you.
