Question:

How hard is physics?

I'm taking honors physics next year as a junior, and I was wondering how hard it really is. (Considering that I do not understand chemistry at all, but I am pretty good at biology and math). I had a tiny bit of physics back in 8th grade, and understood it pretty well. But now this will be a whole class just for that subject...so I was wondering how hard it really will be.

Thanks for all responses.

  1. if you are good at math and pay attention in class, it will be simple for you. if you are neither, it will be nearly impossible.

    make it a good day

  2. the main thing you have to worry about is your problem solving capability and your ability to piece together information. like the common problem of if Mary is 18, and John is twice as old as Mary, and Jerry is half the age of John then how old is Jerry? if you can solve those kind of problems with ease then you should be fine in physics... physics is mostly understanding, studying, and practicing.. much.. almost identical to math only physics deals with the fundamental laws of the world.

  3. well it depends. if u have a knack for physics and u like it u will see that u will do phenomenal. but if ur takin it just for credits and dont really like it it could be tough for u. but all u need to succeed in physics is a good imagination.

  4. You had Physics in 8th grade and you understood it pretty well. You are pretty good at Maths.

Considering the above, you will do well in honors Physics. Keep in mind that you must try to learn fundamentals well. Often students concentrate only on memorizing formulas to solve problems. That is a wrong approach. Of course, it is important to learn formulas but this is not sufficient. Understanding theory well is very important. If you understand theory well, then you will find Physics not only easy but also very interesting; you will love this subject. You can contact me anytime with your doubts.
