Thanks for the answers. :]

I think that I might be good if I start running now until the tryouts start.

  1. Loads of training. It hurts your arms and legs so badly if you do it the right way. But in the end, it gives you the strength and endurance to last a long time in matches! =)

  2. you might want to work on you upper body, push ups stuff like that. Also I recommend that you start running everyday, tennis requires a lot of running! That's what i did & i've been playing 15 years.

  3. you will need to be in shape which is the most important thing to have when you step onto a tennis court. Cardio workouts before you tryout are important so start by running as much as you can. Also, footwork coordination is very important. A common tennis workout involves a flat ladder on the ground and sidestepping through the spaces as quickly as possible. Start with those two and do as much as you can and that will help you prior to when the tennis coach provides you with more drills.

  4. You need to be in decent shape to play on most high school tennis teams, but as long as you can hit the ball with good technique, you probably won't really have to worry too much about your conditioning, unless of course you're in a particularly competitive high school league.  It's always good to do quick/short sprint and footwork drills though, as that's what you'll be doing on the tennis court mostly, besides hitting the ball of course.

  5. ohhh god, not to discourage u but it is excruciating if u want it done right

    1) pushups, and tons of them to build arm muscle

    2) suicides

    3) forehand/backhand drills

    4) practice serving

    5) sprints and other excercises to improve footwork

and after u do this always soak in hot water so ur muscles dont get sore and stiffen

  6. it involves LOTS of running and feet/hand-eye cordination exercises.
