  1. Every state has its own version of the PE, although they share to some extent. For the most part, it involves two 8 hr tests and you can bring whatever you want. There are practice tests available online. The only requirements, other than experience, which varies state to state, is a BSE.


  2. It depends exactly what you're thinking.

    It's not rare at all. There are many hard guys, they're all around you, although professional engineers tend to be on the soft side.

    I am a professional engineer, and, well, a neighbor is a construction worker and compared to him I'm a bit on the flabby side.

    To be 'heard', you must work out and pay attention to your body.

    Think Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  3. The hardest part is the EIT or fundamentals of engineering test.

    If you have that, then you can later sit for the PE after you get some experience under professional engineer.

    It was my experience that the PE exam was easier than the EIT test.

    Learn your $hit, and you will have no problems.
