  2. french system not a lot of difference I think I'm from the netherlands, I speak fluently french but I think u shouldn't worrie about that =P make friends and they'll help you, tip: don't speak english too much because they really love their language so it's like ur saying u hate their language XD lol good luck!!!

  3. Generally the french system is more rigorous than the American system.  However keep in mind there are huge differences in the quality of American schools, where as in France the quality of most shcools is very similar.

A top public school in a wealthy district for example would be comparable to the schools in France.

As to the person who said why do foreign students do so well in American universities.  Keep in mind that these are the very top students who are studying in the U.S.  You don't see mediocre foreign students studying abroad, as they could never gain admission to universities int the U.S.

  4. it's WAY HARDER than the school system in the U.S.

why do you think foreigners from europe do so well in school in the U.S.?

  5. Hi there! What a great experience you're about to have!!!  I'm from Brazil and was an exchange student to the US, a long time ago.  I know everything you're going through, it's very exciting.  To tell you the truth I don't know about the French education system, but we had a Canadian student, the year before my year abroad, in our school.  We had the same questions for her - the school system in Brazil in very tough compared to the US and Canada and Portuguese is very hard to learn.  She said that that year would not count for her back in Canada, she would have to take an extra year in high school when she went back.   Don't worry about the language, I barely knew any English and today I don't even have an accent when speaking, try as much as you can to listen and read (the passive actions of language learning) an in no time you'll be speaking and reading (active actions), it will come to you naturally.  And of course as little English as possible!  What was important for me was that I asked everybody to correct me if I said something wrong, some people don't like to be corrected but I was learning much faster that way and didn't mind.  The program that you enlisted should be able to answer all your questions about the education system in France, it's their duty.  Good luck! This experience will shape you for the rest of your life (it did  me)!
