  1. Hello, friend, you were just the kind of question I was looking for! This past year, I also independent studied AP Chem and Biology using the Barron's review book and got 5's on both of them. As long as you're pretty intelligent (I assume you are as you are doing independent study,) you'll have no problem getting through this. Don't get me wrong, it is a challenge, but the biggest piece of advice that I can give you is to allow ample time to complete the course and study your review book daily. Lay out a plan and you'll find that it's really not that big of a course. Also, don't worry about the laboratory section- just study the "experimental chemistry" chapter as thoroughly as possible (I know it's boring.) Make sure you can do all of the questions after each chapter but don't be scared by the practice tests in the back of the book (the real test isn't nearly that hard.) Finally, don't feel like you need to thoroughly master everything, just do your best. I left two free response questions almost completely blank and like I said, I 5ed it.
