  1. I agree with the other posters... depends on the company you keep, whether anyone [who would care if you drank or not] was with you, how many guests total, and if there's a hosted bar, whether they card or not.  Most weddings I've been to, they've even carded married members of the wedding party.

For instance, if you're with your parents, and they think it's okay for you to try it, somebody else could provide the drink.

Oh, and I'm not endorsing under-age drinking or contributing to minors.  A few sips with parental consent is another thing.

  2. Because you are 16 it might be very hard (because in the states you need to be 21), unless your parents or an aunt wants to to give you a small glass/little taste. Maybe you can ask one of your parents or an aunt when they are drinking if you could try a little taste.

Watch yourself though if your family is letting you just freely drink. You don't want to get drunk, but I'm with the first person though just have a little glass/taste.

  3. Haha.  This is very sweet.

Usually, everyone can have champagne--even younger folks.  It's like communion at church... no one really minds.

The martini you'll have some trouble.  But I was allowed to drink in the company of my parents when I was younger.

  4. That depends on your parents and the state you live in.  Technically, the legal drinking age is 21. However, in some states, you are allowed to drink under the supervision of your parents.  For example, say you'd like to participate in champagne toast.  If your parents say it's OK and are supervising you, then you are allowed (in some states) to do so.

IMO, if I had a 16 year old, I might allow them a simple glass of champagne or wine.   As Americans, we are very uptight about our youth drinking.  But, in Europe, it's commonplace for children ages 14 or 15 to have a glass of wine on Holidays or during dinner.   I believe that in Europe they also have less abuse of alcohol by it's youth.

Really, this is up to your parents.  But, limit yourself.  You are still young.  I think one glass is fine.  But, anything more is pushing it.

  5. I too believe champagne is nasty. I think you would get away with a little drink if your parents are there supervising and agree to allowing it.

  6. Dont try it. Lol, champagne is nasty

  7. I guess it's on how closely you're being watched!

  8. Laws are going to be different depending on where you live. In lots of places, you are allowed to drink if your parents serve you. If your parents aren't going to be there, though, good luck.
