  1. It's a lot more difficult for you and I than it is for a kid. But if you enjoy it enough, the learning part will get a lot easier. Playing the guitar as a hobby is supposed to be about fun so go for it.

  2. nope it takes practice but not as long as it takes to pick up other instruments

  3. no! you can start playing guitar whether you are 8 or 80! it may take a while to get it down but dont get frustrated. just get a cheap acoustic guitar off craigs list or ebay and try and play some chords and simple scales. if you like it, then go get some lessons at the rec center or someplace like that. :D

  4. never too late dude take my word for it.

  5. dooo it.

I'm becomming a music teacher and it is a bit difficult to just pick up instruments older because its like its own language, however, you will breeze past some of the more simple concepts that take children a long time to learn. its allll about the practice....get some provate lessons too...they're not too expensive, go to a local music store, most of them give guitar lessons

  6. Learning the guitar isn't really hard. As long as you have a good teacher......I have a guitar teacher who is a worship leader and isnt even like a "professional" teacher but she teaches me pretty well.

  7. I didn't learn to play until I was 35 - I always knew I'd get around to it and am glad I finally did. These are all good suggestions. The best thing for me was to gather with like minded friends - whether you like rock, gospel, whatever - hang out and learn the basic chords for that type music - usually C, G, D, F will get you through a large percentage of songs - later you can add A, E, B, barr chords, etc. If you learn a few key chords so you can play music you love with friends you enjoy - you'll amaze yourself by how quickly you'll be playing well. We also made target goals - like playing at an open mic or other event - and that helped us focus periodically on getting a number of songs down well, rather than just skimming lots of songs. Make sure and get a Capo - they're handy to have when playing with others. Good luck and don't wait any longer!

  8. Not hard at all. Ive been playing about 13 years, its very easy to learn chords, and scales. Once you learn that, you can play whatever you want alot of songs are based off of 3 or 4 chords, especially old ones. And you can get tabs off of http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/   and that is very easy to understand, and it makes it alot funner to play songs you know. But youll always be learning, if you really enjoy it, youll be like me, i still play everyday, and love it. good luck, hope you try.

  10. Seriously never to old my Grandpa is 63 and he just started he practices like two hours a day and he's really good.
