How hard would it be to teach myself guitar and how could I?

I taught myself how to play guitar - really I had a friend who gave a first lesson, and then I just went from there.  I was a slow learner, but I practiced a lot just because it was good recreation.  Now 10 years later, I'm pretty good at it.  

The keys for me were (1) persistance - I just kept playing (2) learn where you can - watch other players who are a little better than you and ask them for little tricks or just try things you notice (3) internet chords and tabs - you can find all sorts of stuff on the internet and (4) play with people, even if jamming - this will feel uncomfortable at first, get used to their rythms and you will build confidence.  You can't really learn completely on your own, but you can come a long way.

it actually is quite easy!!

you just have to keep up with it unlike i did i forgot a lot of the stuff i taught myself but my dad bought us this guitar learning kit, it came iwth a years worth of dvds and book for beginers up to experts!! and its really helpful but i frogot the name and its kinda late and i dont want to wake up my family by opening my door to go find it lol!
