How harmful is it to dye and bleach you hair?

Dye i am open to...bleach not so much...1st bleach can burn your scalp so much....2nd it makes your hair thinner...3rd maintenance is such a pain it is so obvious when you need to do your roots

Dark hair dyes have been said to pose a greater risk for causing certain types of cancer as they enter the blood stream more readily after being applied to the scalp. Bleaching is safer but it usually dries out your hair out so you'll have to use a hair oil such as Biosilk to keep it hydrated and smooth. Either way any type of chemical processing damages your hair to a certain extent. You should never have the already dyed or highlighted portion of your hair re-dyed if your using permanent dye or bleach as the damage accumulates. I have naturally wavy hair but I can usually keep it sleek when I don't have it bleached. It tends to make my hair curlier.

it makes your hair grow a little bit slower, dryer, and courser.

but nothing too horrible.

ut when it grows out completely and you cut the breached part off, it goes back to normal

You have to have a patch test anyway so it can only burn you if you do it yourself without the salon's protection, but it can affect your hair dramatically and then if you're hair is dark it will start to look awful when your roots grow out.

end of story, if your gonna go blond, get it done at a salon because if they mess it up they will fix it for free and it will look nice, just bring a pic of what you want to the salon and they will make it fit your hair cut.

it depends on your hair.

some people's hair does not react well to treatment, to say the least. xD

but i dye mine quite often, and it's in perfect condition. :D

so really, it's tough to say...
