I have a lot of questions, I smoke 1 cigar over the course of a weekend usually once a month, or once in a month and a half, is this going to do much damage to me?

Will i start smelling like smoke the more i continue doing this? i brush my teeth and use mouthwash and ive been doing this for 3 months now and my girlfriend hasn't noticed, will this continue?

I never really feel the NEED to smoke, but will i start getting that way?

please only answer if you can help me, not give me the "your going to get cancer" speech

  1. well its not like you are smoking everyday so no, you wont die anytime soon. but remember that each cigar you smoke, a year of life is taken away!

  2. No, it's unlikely to hurt you if you're young and in good health. It will make you and your clothes smell bad after you do it (and the entire environment smell foul while you do it). It shouldn't addict you, either, unless you let it "sneak up" on you and smoke more and more frequently.

  3. What Jacob said - I can't stand people who reply to posts that they have no knowledge whatsoever of.

Smoking a cigar correctly, i.e. - without inhaling, is not harmful, especially smoked once a month or less.

As for smelling like smoke, that is unfortunately one of the by products of this hobby.

As for becoming addicted to cigars - won't happen unless you inhale for the nic hit.

  4. Well like I heard from a lot of people that kissing smokers is not very pleasant. I heard they stink & taste disgusting. So if you want to have crazy make out sessions with girls, you shouldn't smoke. Lol

  5. Best of luck on missing out on the "smoking is bad, m'kay" speech.

In answer to your question (a novelty it would seem), chances are you'll be doing yourself next to no damage with a cigar a month, especially if you smoke it properly.

You'd be very unlikely to smell of smoke if you only smoke so little except just after you've smoked it.

If you do start feeling that you NEED to smoke (i.e. you're not enjoying it any more) then I'd cut right back - if you're going to be persecuted by the health police then you might as well do something that you enjoy while you're doing it.

  6. Wow, some of the answers to your question are irritating.  Those people have no idea what they are talking about.  Smoking one cigar a month will not affect you, you will be fine.  It's a great relaxer to fire up a good cigar, and to me that reduces stress which is not good for you.  Heck, you get more pollution just walking outside (well depending on where you live) than smoking one cigar a month.

  7. well lets think.. a cigar is equal to like what 5 or more cigarettes? yeah you're gonna start smelling like a coal mine, and with our polluted air i don't think you need to fill your lungs with any more c**p, not to mention out air with it

  8. no, you will only taste like the cigar for not evn 24 hours, i had 1 last night and i can't taste it, my gf couldn't taste it today. your clothes will smell a lot if it was a big one(like mine:P) but just wash them and the smell will come out, n i highly doubt 1 cigar will have any risks

  9. Why do you people answer things you have no clue about.  No... one cigar a month will not harm you.  You will not smell like a "coal mine" as long as you brush your teeth, shower, and put on fresh clothes.  Who knows... your S.O. may even like the smell!  A lot of people do.

And what's this that alexthinksgreen posts? "but remember that each cigar you smoke, a year of life is taken away!"  If that were true I would have about 30 seconds of life left.... oh, wait... what's that?  why does my chest hurt? I can't breath... what's happeni
