I'm more interested in accuracy than political correctness. What are your honest observations?

  1. To me, as we allow people from other countries to come to our shores and be assimilated into our culture, we tend to take the tact that the poorest and weakest of us should have the same rights and accouterments as the richest and strongest.  We continually strive for a homogeneous society where all our equal.

However, to me, what we need to guarantee to everyone is the opportunity to succeed, rather than have a moral mandate to provide for everyone, no matter how much they contribute to society or attempt to assimilate themselves.

Mindless entitlements are not the answer.  What we should provide to everyone is the opportunity to reach their true potential.

  2. that is a difficult question and requires some serious thought.  I think initially it was a good  intention of an idea...a place where people could go to get away from the ills of their homelands, but in doing that, created misery for those who already lived here.  (the road to h**l theory)

Imperialism (if this is the right term) seems to be a dirty word these days.  God forbid one country should try to take over another.  The WORLD POLICE get involved to stop it.  What ever happened to the "good old days" when the strong overtook the weak?  Nowadays, there are associations to keep the "rights" of the weak protected.  Survival of the fittest, I say.  Protecting the weak weakens the whole structure.  Let the strongest among us prevail.  Culling a herd keeps the herd strong.

Racial diversity, in my opinion, is NOT a good thing.  There are too many people crying "discrimination" because people get their sensibilities bruised when they don't get what they want.  For example...a black guy, a white guy, and an Asian guy all apply for the same job.  The Asian guy gets it.  The black guy complains that he didn't get the job because he's black and goes on and on about how his ancestors suffered through slavery and the system "OWES" him.  Bullshit in my opinion.  The white guy complains that he didnt' get the job because he's not Asian, as if he's inferior in some way to the Asian guy.  Maybe he is, but the more probable conclusion is that the Asian guy is most qualified.  If it were a pool of all blacks or all whites or all Asians, there wouldn't be any issue, would there?
