  1. Yes indeed it has. A prime example- India.

    A country rich in culture, but it is dying out now due to globalization. People are getting influenced by the western society. The caste system is demolishing in India. More people have stopped wearing traditional dresses and are walking around in jeans. Arranged marriage rates have slightly dropped. Not only due to globalization but the Indian economy is sky rocketing!


  2. Your question assumes that Culture is "static" and unchanging. Just because the Scots wore kilts 200 years ago doesn't mean they should shun Levis to preserve their culture.

    Culture is an evolution as dictated by change in the environment of today. A typical food might be considered cultural, but only because that may have been the only food available before the advent of airplanes and cargo ships that can bring variety to the dinner table.

    So culture is not being destroyed, it is adapting to a changing environment. Just as Jesus wore sandals in 33/a.d., he might be wearing a pair of Nikes in 2008 had he come today. Just remember that culture is an evolution and not a static representative of a specific moment in time.
