Question:

How has Yahoo Answers helped make you a better fantasy manager?

Do you have a specific example?

I use other fantasy football forums but I'm continually surprised by the close-knit group of experts on Yahoo Answers who offer insightful analysis.

Last season, "Jephatitis E" and "CrashFu" were both great resources for me. Both users directed me to fantasy football resources I had not used before.

Thanks.

  1. I don't think I'll be as good resource as CrashFu and Jephatitis, but I'll give it a try.

On Y!A, people ask a lot of questions about "who's better, ____or____?" and questions like "should i trade ______for_______?". When I answer these questions, or I explore these questions, the best answerer always states some goods and bads. But, the best answerer also tries to answer the question "will this move benefit me in more categories?" And I use this when I play fantasy sports because I try to see how this trade will patch up my weaknesses and get me to win in more stats.

For example, when I wanted to know if this trade was good, Ryan Ludwick for Carlos Quentin, me getting Quentin. Someone said that Ludwick has slightly better batting average and Quentin had slightly better OBP. Since I needed the OBP and I could make up for the batting average, I pulled the trigger and got Ludwick.
