How has hurricaine Noel affected the pleasure cruise ships touring the West Indies ?

Don't know specifics about Noel, but I had a friend-slash-client of mine book a cruise with me, and on the way home a hurricane thingie came up, maybe H. Dean.  Anyways, the ship took a tiny little detour out of the way, no big deal.  When you see maps on the Weather Channel, it looks a lot worse in terms of what area it's covering.  A hurricane, in most cases, can be avoided by a cruise ship.  No worries!

We were on a southern Caribbean cruise and noticed rougher seas than normal and lots of rain.  We did not have to change our course of travel, but sometimes they do to avoid a tropical depression or hurricane.
