  1. running has drastically improved my life. when i first started, i was very unhappy with myself, and had a horrible outlook on life. i hated eating and was so self consious that sometimes things were very hard. but then i started running, and i started getting stronger, and was able to eat without feeling horrible. i had something to pride myself upon and a way to clear my head. now i'm a very happy person that loves life. if it hadn't been for running, i don't know what i would be.

  2. I was a small kid in 7th grade.  I had no athletic ability, and I was bullied a lot.  I could not even run 100 meters.  One day, I was sitting on the bench during a basketball game, and coach put me in for the last thirty seconds.  I managed to give the ball away and cost us the game.  After the game, three popular boys approached me and told me that I sucked at everything and I would always suck at everything for the rest of my life, and that I looked like I had down syndrome and that if they were me, they would want to kill themselves.  I did not get sad at this.  I became irate and I sat alone on the bus that night on the way home thinking of how I could prove these guys wrong.  I woke up at 5:30 the next morning and ran, and I ran every morning until I was great at it and they were jealous of me.  I became a high school track star and went on to college to run.  My life was changed by running because I discovered that I could not only prove others wrong, but prove to myself that with a little hard work, I can do anything I want.

  3. to me it has had a great impact. I belive that runninng saved my life has a freshmen in highschool i was pot head low life idiot. Untill one day i got cought smoking weed in the track field, the coach cought me i was more mad that i was smoking on his field than he was that i was smoking.

He told me you better come tommorow with running shoes ready to run if not ill go to the school and tell them what u have been doing over here. So i said fine and then from then on I was hooked on running I love it It turned my life around it got me away from my bad habits, got in shape, did good in school, got me the best friends that i could hope for, and well It saved my life in a way. I owe it all to running and my coach, Coach Walker (R.I.P.)

  4. Oh my gosh...there are so many ways...

    1.  Obviously, running got me in great shape.  As a high school girl on the cross country and track teams I am in better shape than most of my friends, and I look great.

    2. I have so much energy, way more than I ever had before.

    3.  It boosted my confidence.  I am more outgoing.

    4.  It taught me that dedication, determination, and hard work WILL lead to success.  I never thought that I would be able to run a mile in the times I am getting now. It taught me to have the willpower to succeed not only in running but in every aspect of my life.

    5. I learned that just like in running, there are hills in life that you have to run, but if you keep going you will reach the top.

    6.  I learned that some things in life don't come easily.  They take every ounce of your being and you have to keep working if you want to get better.  In life and running, you get out of it what you put into it.

Basically, it taught me that anything is possible and that the word "can't" shouldn't be in anyone's vocabulary.

  5. YES
