This led to a accentuation of the slide in the Sensex which was aleady in the grip of a bearish phase. However, after the vote of confidence was own, the Sensex rose up for sometime.

The data that is relevant is the Sensex daily open/ close and high/ low values available from daily newspapers for the period from the date the left withdrew support to a few days after the vote of confidence was own. If you studu the series of closing prices on successive date and record the political events on different dates you can see this.
