  2. I am happy with my mortgage.  We bought a small house and put down a large downpayment.  We made sure the mortgage could be affordable with one person's income.

We are doing very well off because we refused to lend above our means.  What does bother me a lot is having my tax dollars bail out others who lived way above their means.

  3. Not at all.  I learned a long time ago not to over extend myself.  I resent the fact that the taxpayer will bail these folks out for their irresponsibility.  Hopefully though, it will jump start the housing market.  This should be a valuable lesson for young folks to live within their means.

  4. No effect at all.

  5. The people who bought homes they couldn't afford are to blame. Not the economy, not Congress, not the President. Personal responsibility needs to be taken into account here.

  6. Mortage companies are responsible for their unethical business practices.  They need to pay the price for cheating consumers--not be rewarded with tax payer government bailouts!  And everyone paying mortages these days are affected even if they bought a house that was within their means because unforseen price inflation like this is taking a huge chunk of extra money people use to have on hand!

So (to Bush cheerleaders) stop blaming people and their supposed stupidity!!!

  7. Not at all.  I bought years ago and have a very manageable mortgage at a great rate.
