  2. gathering earthquake data has helped the scientists make estimations about the time intervals in which an earthquake occur. For example; in some areas earthquakes happen after every ten years and in some areas inspection of land can help them estimate the time of next earthquake.

    therefore, these estimations help them take preventive measures and hence reduce the damages.
