What are some everyday or long term changes you've had to make to your lifestyle to ease the financial strain? Please add any suggestions of things you've tried and have proved to make a difference. Has anybody tried living with extended family? How is that working?

  1. Can't make ends meet!  I worry more and get bad grades cause I can't focus onmy studies due to money problems.  My worries affect my relationship with my fiance as we want to get married in 5 mths but can't cause of no money!!

  2. Buy food at a discount store, use public transportation more, download more music and movies for free and stopped going out.

I love my extended family but I am not yet at that stage where I have to live with them. I think I would rather live with a friend if it came to it. I don't mind shouting and falling out with a friend... With family, that isn't possible.

  3. i now ride my bike to work

  4. well with the gas prices, we just try not to go out much. yesss it gets boring and we all feel so cramped together and stuff, but it really helps. my dad works close to our house so he can bike or walk in the summer, and we've jsut been trying to cut back

  5. Actually there has been no effect for me...I live very minimallistic(below my means)...unless of course you consider the fact that friends who used to joke about my lifestyle are now envious as they are scratching to make ends meet and not go bankrupt an effect

  6. I struggle to get by, there is hardly any enjoyment in life because there is too much worry about working and making money.
